¡Hola!

We've extended our 2025 summer with 2 weeks in Mallorca. I love wandering the old cobbled streets and seeing the beautiful stone buildings with their distinctive green shutters. It's been a welcome and inspiring break, and something of a mental reset for me workwise.

Soon after I get back I'll show you what I've been up to in my studio. It's in the process of being completely redecorated to be a more colourful and inviting space for delivering workshops. I intend to offer a wider variety of these in the coming weeks and I wanted the space to have a more homely, spacious and comfortable feel.

Note to all other glass artists - I will have a selection of ceramic moulds, tools and other equipment available for sale in the near future as I have a clearout of equipment I no longer use. If you want to be notified then leave a comment here and I'll DM you the details once I've photographed everything.

Wirksworth Festival is on this weekend and I highly recommend checking out venue 62 - The Studio - where you'll find stunning handmade silver jewellery by the incredibly talented Susannah Brookes, including the last three bespoke rings she was kind enough to collaborate with me on.

Going nicely with the creepy crawly nature theme are these extra large glass tiles (17.5x17.5cms) created by the children and staff at a Lincolnshire children's care home I attended recently.
I love the mix of textures and use of contrasting colours.

Check out this cute seahorse created on one of my short workshops recently! My 2 hour taster workshops are perfect for those who have never made anything from glass and want to discover how it's all done. You can have a go at glass cutting, choose your colours and different types of accessory glass to use, and by the end of the session you will have created your very own coaster or lightcatcher ready for firing in the kiln.

For those wanting to delve a little deeper into the techniques and work to a larger scale, then the full day workshops are just the ticket and are also suitable for beginners.

After spending the weekend at @rutlandflowershow I couldn't resist sharing my Dahlia's with you all. I planted the tubers of these in spring and they are doing particularly well in the sunny front garden. These are the 'Café au Lait' variety and I love them!

Huge thanks to everyone who stopped by my stall to chat, enquire about workshops, talk commisions and make purchases - I really appreciate it.

Also thanks to my lovely neighbour Amy from @ruddersrum for keeping me company in the quieter moments. I'm looking forward to sampling some flavoured rum in the morning. 😉

My last ever market will be Rutland Flower Show this weekend. I'm all set up in the Grand Marquee and we are open Friday-Sunday from 9:00-5:30.

This is not quite the end of my glass journey as I still plan to create new pieces to sell online, and I will continue running workshops both in my studio and out in the wider community. For me though markets are not something I will continue to do and I am looking forward to going out with a bang at this super awesome event for plant crazies like myself.

Check out these fabulous art panels made by the lovely Lauren. She attended a full day workshop at my studio recently and made these wonderful pieces inspired by her pet cats. They each stand up well on their way but also work great as a trio - I love them!
